Rainbowbridge Poem for Coffee
My dearest Coffee,
In just forty-five days,
you journeyed from sickness to the Rainbow Bridge.
I held you close,
tears falling as your body grew weak,
your gentle eyes still searching for me.
I know you stayed because of love,
but love also means letting go.
Run free now, my baby,
beyond the pain,
into fields of light at the Rainbow Bridge.
Someday, when time allows,
I will find you there—
tail wagging, heart pure,
waiting to welcome me
home at the Rainbow Bridge.
