Yesterday, I broke down,
but last night you came to me in a dream.
You were right there—warm, alive,
just like the days when we walked side by side.
This morning, without thinking,
I reached for your leash.
The fabric felt so familiar,
and in that small moment,
I swore I could smell your sweet scent again,
as if you had never left.
My sweet baby,
now you are a dog with rainbow light around you,
safe and free on the other side of the pet rainbow bridge.
There is no pain, no sickness, no struggle.
I picture you running across wide open fields,
the sun on your back,
the wind in your fur,
smiling as you play in endless meadows.
As a loyal bulldog,
you always carried such strength and gentleness.
I know that same spirit shines even brighter now,
as you run free beneath the rainbow sky.
One day, I’ll walk that path too.
And when I reach the Rainbow Bridge,
I know you’ll be waiting—
tail wagging, eyes shining,
ready to leap into my arms again.
Until then, I’ll keep your memory alive,
and dream of you happily crossing the rainbow bridge.
